Moonies Cult Bless AR-15 Rifles

I am sure you have seen the MSM reporting that a “Church”, meaning Christians, are blessing Assault rifles. This is half truth!

It is just another attempt to give Christians a black eye. This is NOT a true church. They are NOT Christians. They are a Cult known as the Moonies. It is nothing more than an attempt to get publicity, and Lucifer’s left to demonize Christians!

Much more about the Moonies after the article excerpts and video.

NBC 10 Philadelphia excerpts Worshippers (sic) (Nutty Cult Members) in a Pennsylvania church clutching AR-15 rifles drank holy wine and exchanged wedding vows in a commitment ceremony Wednesday morning.

The event at the World Peace and Unification Sanctuary in Newfoundland, Wayne County, (Pennsylvania) led a nearby school to cancel classes.

The Rev. Sean Moon leads the controversial church. He and his wife are known as the king and queen. Moon said in a prayer Wednesday that God gave people the right to bear arms. He held a gold AR-15 rifle throughout the ceremony.

Moon is the son of the Rev. Sun Myung Moon, a self-proclaimed messiah who founded the Unification Church, often described as a cult, in the 1950s.

The sanctuary believes the AR-15 symbolizes the “rod of iron” in the book of Revelation, and encouraged couples to bring the weapons to the ceremony. An AR-15 was used in the Florida high school massacre.

Women wearing white wedding-style dresses and men in black suits calmly shuffled into the building. Church officials said all weapons would be unloaded, secured with zip ties and checked at the door.

Moon’s father was most notable for holding mass weddings and his followers were dubbed “Moonies.”

Church officials said it planned Wednesday’s event months ago, well before the Feb. 14 massacre at a Florida high school. Authorities say the gunman there used an AR-15 in an attack that killed 17.

The Unification Church distanced itself from Wednesday’s event, saying its ceremonies and theology do not involve weapons.

“It saddens us that Reverand Moon’s son has chosen to separate himself and walk in opposition to his parent’s legacy building world peace,” the Rev. Richard Buessing, president of Family Federation, another name for the Unification Church, said in a statement. Source: NBC 10

It does not matter if the main body “distanced itself”  from these fools. The Nuts don’t fall far from the tree!

Who are the Moonies? What is the Unification Church?

The Unification Church is a cult founded by Rev. Sun Myung Moon (1920–2012), who started it in Seoul, Korea, in 1954. The official name of the Unification Church is the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (founded as the Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity); it is currently led by Hak Ja Han, Moon’s widow.

Unificationism immediately became controversial, as Moon believed that the Bible could not be understood without the aid of his book Divine Teaching, which he claimed was divinely inspired. Moon amassed quite a fortune for himself as the leader of the Unification Church—by the time he died in 2012, he was worth millions. Moon led his followers, sometimes referred to as “Moonies,” to do many bizarre things. The Unification Church spent $48 million to produce an anti-communist movie. The movie flopped. Perhaps the movement is most notorious is for the mass wedding of 3,000 couples in 1992.

The Unification Church is a false church. First, let us compare what the Bible says about false teachers to the life of Sun Myung Moon. According to 1 Timothy 6:3, teaching that is from God leads to holy and righteous living. Moon was accused of sexual impurity on numerous occasions. Moon was also convicted of tax evasion and sentenced to prison. The apostle Jude warns the church about men who would turn grace into a license for ungodly behavior (Jude 1:4).

Second, the Unification Church is characterized by false, unbiblical theology. According to Moon’s teaching, man is visible God, and God is the invisible form of man (see Hebrews 2:6–8 for a clear refutation of this). In fact, Moon crowned himself the “King of Peace” in 2004 and claimed to be the Messiah and Savior of the world; he also claimed his wife was the Holy Spirit. The purported goal of Unificationism is world peace through the creation of “true families.” Rev. Moon and his wife presented themselves as the “True Parents” and the first to have children who were sinless. Unificationism teaches that dead people can return to earth for a second chance to atone for some of their sin.

Unification theology denies the Trinitarian understanding of the Godhead (see Titus 2:13). Furthermore, Unificationism denies that Jesus was raised physically from the dead (see 1 Corinthians 15) and denies His divine nature (see Hebrews 1:1–3). Deliverance from sin, according to the Unification Church, is based on human effort and making restitution, directly contradicting Ephesians 2:8–9: “It is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” In this religion of works and the denial of the deity of Christ, the Unification Church joins the myriad of cults and false religions that have these same two things in common.

Aside from the deceptive tactics and mind-control practices of the Unification Church, the movement is dangerous because the theology directly contradicts Scripture. Followers of Sun Myung Moon’s teachings trust a false messiah and are deceived into false understandings about God, about Jesus, and about life after death. How unfortunate that people are attempting to work their way to heaven, when Jesus Christ has paid the complete penalty for their sin on the cross. How tragic that Moonies follow a self-serving (and dead) leader rather than the self-sacrificial (and risen) Christ. Source: Got Questions

Sun Myung Moon Crowned ‘King Of America’ At U.S. Senate Building

May 2004 – Controversial Korean evangelist and self-declared messiah Sun Myung Moon received a “Crown of Peace” at a March 23 ceremony that took place at the Dirksen Senate Office Building in Washington, D.C., and was promoted by members of Congress.

Wearing flowing robes reminiscent of Middle Ages kingly attire, Moon and his wife, Hak Ja Han, had golden crowns placed on their heads during the ceremony, which was attended by a U.S. senator and several members of the House of Representatives.

It was clear that Moon followers viewed the coronation ceremony as more than just an award. On Moon’s Family Federation for World Peace and Unification website a few days later, top Moon official Chung Hwan Kwak was quoted as saying, “So in effect, the crowning means America is saying to Father, ‘Please become my king.'”

Observed Kwak, “The ‘outside’ view of the Capitol Hill event was that Father received a crown, an award for his years of dedication and leadership in reconciliation and peace-making. The ‘inside’ view of the event was that America surrendered to True Parents in the king’s position.”

The event was sponsored by the Interreligious and International Peace Council, a Moon front group that claims to build bridges between Christianity, Judaism and Islam. In reality, critics say the organization pursues Moon’s longstanding dream of merging religion and government under his authority.

Moon’s group was able to get access to the Senate building thanks to an influential friend: U.S. Sen. Mark Dayton (D-Minn.), who attended the event. Also attending were six members of the House of Representatives: Reps. Roscoe G. Bartlett (R-Md.), Christopher B. Cannon (R-Utah), Curt Weldon (R-Pa.), Danny K. Davis (D-Ill.), Harold E. Ford (D-Tenn.) and Sanford D. Bishop Jr. (D-Ga.).

The House members were listed as “Congressional Co-Chairs” of the event on invitations. “Invitational Committee” members included U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), former U.S. Sen. Larry Pressler (R-S.D.), U.S. Rep. Phillip M. Crane (R-Ill.), U.S. Rep. Thomas M. Davis (R-Va.) and U.S. Rep. Eddie B. Johnson (D-Texas).

During his remarks at the Senate ceremony, Moon claimed that dead world leaders have endorsed him from the “spirit world.”

“[M]any other leaders in the spirit world, including even Communist leaders such as Marx and Lenin, who committed all manner of barbarity and murders on earth, and dictators such as Hitler and Stalin, have found strength in my teachings, mended their ways and been reborn as new persons,” Moon told the crowd. “Emperors, kings and presidents who enjoyed opulence and power on earth, and even journalists who had worldwide fame, have now placed themselves at the forefront of the column of the true love revolution…. They have declared to all Heaven and Earth that Reverend Sun Myung Moon is none other than humanity’s Savior, Messiah, Returning Lord and True Parent.”

(Moon officials have asserted that within the past few years, Moon has been endorsed by every deceased U.S. president at a series of “spirit world conferences.”)

Days later at an April 7 gathering, Moon bragged about his enthronement. A summary of his remarks on a Moon website reported that he said, “The coronation of True Parents and King and Queen of the Peace Kingdom was no small event. This was not a symbol or a simple matter. This Coronation of March 23 was a most serious condition in history and was a central point for the Peace Kingdom.”

Moon also said, “Father is giving direction to Jesus. Do you think Jesus is coming again from the clouds?… The fulfillment of the Coronation on Capitol Hill reversed the fortunes of the Jesus course on the cross. I’m very logical and reasonable as a person…. You don’t know how serious the coronation was in history. If that didn’t happen, then there was a possibility that an atomic bomb would have been dropped on the Gaza Strip.”

Moon also blasted the separation of church and state.

“Who emphasized the separation of church and state?” he asked. “It is not God’s viewpoint.”

Moon concluded his rant with an attack on gay people, a frequent theme in his sermons. He announced that to stop homosexuality, all Unification Church couples should sleep naked.

“Even mother and I are setting such a condition,” said Moon, who is 84. “You must think that your body is for your wife and your wife’s body is for the husband. When couples get old, they should still touch each other and be close like they are young. The wife should sleep holding her husband’s love organ. The husband should do the same…. There is no spare key to your spouse’s love organ. You like to hear this, don’t you, sisters?”

In an April 8 address, Moon observed, “If three families do this [sleep naked] in every village we can get rid of all homosexuality.”

In other recent controversial statements reported on Moon websites, the Korean evangelist insisted that “the Jews killed Jesus” and argued that race is environmentally determined.

“If you black leaders went to live in the North Pole,” he said, “you would become white after a few generations.” Source

Moonie leader ‘crowned’ in Senate – Republicans and Democrats attend cult blessing ceremony

The Guardian June 2004 – The US Senate was used for a bizarre ritual in which the Rev Sun Myung Moon, the head of the Unification church, was “crowned” and declared himself the messiah in the presence of more than a dozen Republican and Democratic members of Congress, it was reported yesterday.

“Emperors, kings and presidents … have declared to all heaven and Earth that Reverend Sun Myung Moon is none other than humanity’s saviour, messiah, returning Lord and true parent,” the 85-year-old Korean “Moonie” cult leader told several hundred guests at the meeting in one of the Senate’s office buildings on March 23, according to the Washington Post.

He also claimed endorsement from Marx, Lenin, Stalin and Hitler, who had all been reformed and reborn through his church’s teachings – an idiosyncratic version of Christianity which rejects the use of the cross as a symbol and denounces homosexuals as “dirty dung-eating dogs”.

An account of the ceremony was first published by a Washington investigative journalist, John Gorenfeld.

According to a transcript of the event, Mr Moon declared: “I am God’s ambassador, sent to Earth with his full authority. I am sent to accomplish his command to save the world’s six billion people, restoring them to Heaven with the original goodness in which they were created.”

The glittering event in the Senate’s Dirksen building reflected Mr Moon’s extraordinary influence in US politics. He owns the conservative newspaper the Washington Times and the US news agency United Press International.

His fiercely conservative attitudes towards homosexuality and pre-marital sex have won him the endorsement of leading Republicans, including the president’s father, George Bush, and John Ashcroft, the attorney general, who participated in one of Mr Moon’s “prayer luncheons” days before the president’s inauguration in January 2001.

Leading black Democrats also played a prominent role in the March ceremony.

An Illinois congressman, Danny Davis, wore white gloves and carried a purple cushion bearing a medieval-style “international crown of peace”, which was placed on Mr Moon’s head, at an event at which 100 Americans from 50 states were also given lesser “national” and “state” peace awards.

The event was an “innocent ceremony,” Mr Davis told the Guardian. “It was a banquet to give out awards. I didn’t have any way of knowing Reverend Moon would say he was the messiah, or whatever he said.”

Mr Davis acknowledged that “three or four individuals directly related to Rev Moon” took part in a fund-raiser for his primary campaign in Illinois earlier this year, but said small sums of money were involved.

Other members of Congress who attended the event said they had been fooled into going by being told only that people from their constituencies would be honoured at the ceremony.

A spokeswoman for a Democratic senator from Minnesota, Mark Dayton, said: “We fell victim to it. We were duped.”

It was unclear who gave permission for the Senate office building to be used.

During the ceremony Mr Moon invoked the blessing of all America’s past presidents. He also claimed to have communed with other big names in history.

He told his audience: “The five great saints and other leaders in the spirit world, including communist leaders such as Marx and Lenin, who committed all manner of barbarity, and dictators such as Hitler and Stalin, have found strength in my teachings, mended their ways and been reborn as new persons.”

It is not the first time he has claimed posthumous backing. His followers recently took out a two-page advertisement in the Washington Times to run a testimonial to him, quoting 36 former presidents “from the vantage point of heaven”. Source
